Against the backdrop of the current energy transition, energy conservation, and emission reduction, the Yiwu Hanghao 0.5MW/1MWh industrial and commercial energy storage project has emerged. Yiwu, as a globally renowned center for small commodity production and trade, boasts vibrant industrial and commercial activity and a huge and stable demand for electricity. However, within industrial zones or large factories, the complexity of production processes and equipment operation often leads to significant fluctuations and uncertainties in electricity load. These fluctuations and uncertainties not only increase the operating costs of the power system but also potentially threaten the stability and security of the power grid.
The construction of the Yiwu Hanghao project is of great significance to the industrial and commercial development of the region. First, it can effectively balance electricity demand and reduce operating costs for businesses. By charging during off-peak hours and discharging during peak hours, it achieves peak shaving and valley filling, reducing businesses' dependence on the grid during peak hours and lowering electricity expenses. Second, the project helps improve the absorption of clean energy and promotes the optimization and upgrading of the energy structure.
